There is a new patch from Microsoft regarding the RPC vulnerabilities that viruses like MS_BLAST, TROJ_EXPLTDCOM, HKTL_DCOM, WORM_NACHI, WORM_RALEKA used to cause havoc to Microsoft operating systems around the world a few weeks back. This is a different patch to the one released 2 months ago. New vulnerabilities are patched in this patch.

This is yet another CRITICAL patch that everyone should install if they are running an NT based OS (see the link or below for the complete list of affected OS's)

Products Affected by This Update
• Windows NT® 4.0
• Windows 2000
• Windows XP
• Windows Server™ 2003

Products Not Affected by This Update
• Windows Millennium (Windows Me)

Note Windows 98, Windows 98 Second Edition (SE), and Windows 95 also are not affected by this issue. However, these products are no longer supported. Users of these products are strongly encouraged to upgrade to later versions.

I try and goto the windows update page and it says my active x controls prevent it from opening properly...

where do I adjust this?

Sounds like you have the settings in PC-Cillin set to block all ActiveX, its an option in configure, just turn it off :lol:

this patch has been available for months.....
also i waws distributing the virus removal tool and this windows critical update on my usb key at the past ccgl and at neverlight

it's a little late to tell faux paus, but for anyone interested, dont lower your active x settings, rather go into "tools" "internet options" then the security tab, then click on trusted sites and add http://*.windowsupdate.com and http://*.windowsupdate.microsoft.com good idea to do that before lowering your active x stuff, i'm not familiar with any active x exploits but i am familiar with the theory of how to make active x exploits.
