14-08-2004, 12:48 PM
Version: 1.0-0283
Release Date: August 13, 2004
Release Highlights for 1.0-0283:
Added support for Linux Installer *
Added support for SoundStorm (Hardware Mixing supported) *
Added support AC3 pass-through *
Added support for Ethernet driver statistics and configuration information through procfs *
Added support for 2.6 series kernels *
Added a new audio application, NVIDIA NVMixer, to do Volume control per channel, input selection, Speaker selection, Speaker cloning, Swap mic to Center/Lfe & LineIn to Surround L/R
omg finally respectable drivers with 2.6 support and hardware mixing for soundstorm now i can run xmms with the kde sounds enabled
and it is an nvidia installer like the graphics drivers that will compile drivers for your kernel if you have a non standard 2.4 or 2.6 kernel (e.g a customised kernel that you have compiled)
took them a while to release these drivers, previous driver sets havent had the hardware mixing (i.e you cant play 2 sounds at once) and no 2.6 kernel support plus it finally has ac3 and speaker selection
i think this is the sign of many things to come
