i'm looking for a laptop in the $2500 - $3000 range... needs a decent sized screen, 60gig HDD or better... any suggestions on makers/models i should be looking it?

I have a p4 1.3 Centrino (Centrino is equivilent to much faster)

40Gb hdd
Wide screen monitor 1280x800
Radeon 9200 Mobility

Compaq NX7000

Mum bought it for my birthday from Rockheads old crew for $2200 or something

I think it's a great laptop :)

At christmas i got an ibm r50 centrino, 1.4 512, radeon 7500 for about $2200, now you can get better for cheaper, see mcuds above but at the time ordering directly from ibm, this was the cheapest and best laptop i could get. So try www.toshiba.com, www.ibm.com, www.compaq.com, etc etc.

just get a Dell
I bought one a while back
awesome build quality
cheap plus each week they have new sepcials
can build your own on the net and that as well
Mines bloody brilliant in my opinion
got a 9600 inspirion with some extras 2500
