ok jems you use to power up weapons and armour each gem does a special thing like example

a skull gem steals health and mana each hit when in a weapon

and a ruby does fire damage

the list goes on

and the better quality the gem the more it does i have the finest quality gems at available and all i want for them is a small price of gold or cans of coke

gems are used for socketing in items to give socketed items the magic powers the gems possess.

however, keeping the gems and getting three of one grade of gem (flawed, chipped etc) lets you upgrade those three into one higher grade gem (flawless, and eventually perfect)

upgraded gems give you even more of a benefit than their lower quality counterparts....

same thing works with runes.

except runes that you socket you spell out to make words and get the best items in the game , basically.

ok, i'm over the xvst now... played it tho tonight so it takes about 48 hours to get out of my system...
