ViewSonic V35 PDA
PocketPC2002 SE with updated media player, cleartype and newer version of microsoft reader, assorted hotfixes
Comes with USB cradle, charger, and international plugs for charger
Comes with stylus (of course)
Comes with box, manual, instructions, installation CD, microsoft outlook, and a rad viewsonic brand pseudo-leather carry pouch

Also comes with a 64 Megabyte SD card.. and possibly another one too

Has a SD (secure digital) expansion slot, which DOES support SD I/O. SD I/O allows you to purchase peripherals such as a Secure Digital 256mb storage card + integrated wireless card, and then plug and play instantly with the PDA. Instant wireless connectivity for cheap.

Great battery life, charges quickly, it has the Intel XScale PXA250 Processor running at 300mhz, and can be changed to either 200mhz or 400mhz , or even 100mhz for extra battery saving :)

Still in imac. Condition, no scratches on chassis or screen, backlight has minor blemish in the bottom quarter of the screen, doesnt affect usability really, and cannot see the blemish at all when backlight is off, screen is really clear and bright, great crisp colours and antialiased fonts look great with ClearType on...

Here are some pics

Side on profile shot to show how small it is -

I have about 1.5 gigabytes of legal software for it as well, and I will be happy to pass on the software with the PDA, as I will have no use for it if i sell it....

While not quite as fast as say, Yonney's HP5550 PDA, the Viewsonic has superior performance in 3d applications and when bumped up to 400mhz, difference is negligible in performance!

Just an expression of interest... It doesnt get much use other than the occasional game of scrabble and mp3 playing on the train, and some calendar and appointment stuff for work. But I want a sound system for my car bad. lol.

edit -

While not quite as fast as say, Yonney's HP5550 PDA (which is faster, newer but at the same time more expensive) , the Viewsonic has performance that is equal to in games that depend on more than the processor (such as any game with 3d graphics) and i will post the benchmarks I performed about a month ago.

I sort of exaggerated the performance against something like a HP5550 a little too much, my bad :)

oh yeah and i cant upload the benchmark images until i get home.

and ill say this now, if you have the cash, get yonney's. it's a steal at the price he's asking :-D (http://ccgl.org/forums/viewtopic.php?t=4211&highlight=)

if you have the cash
well if I wanted to spend $700 on a pda I would, but I was looking at something more like an ipaq1940 right now, to replace my super old 16mb hp Journada.. neway long story short how much are you looking at for the lot, and can you play mp3's dstright off the sd card; cuz my shoddy jornada can't :-(

you sure can play MP3's off the SD card! and the SD slot is SD I/O so you can also get secure digital slot digital cameras, wireless cards, extra storage, bluetooth adapters, tons of different stuff... and it all works great with my PPC!

MSN me around 7:45pm (i should be home from work then) and we can have a chat about it.

and hmm my thread got moved... no wonder i didnt see any posts for it... ah well, shoulda posted it in the right thread
