At the moment, I think closing the forums completely will be the most likely course of action if it keeps up..

Cant we all just get along. :P

The threat about closing the forum still stands.
I have no problem locking it and turning it into an invite only board. So please, think before you post. ;)

Seriously, that's a .ing stupid thing to do. It's like you're encouraging people to say stuff in the heat of the moment, then not be able to amend what they said before it snowballs into a big . fight.

If you don't care, then let someone who does run the forum. <_<

MMM.. I think I'm with Adsor on this one. I could see a trend happening where people flame, and then before an Admin can see it they delete it and claim they are the injured party.

I think think before you talk it's like real life. I wish I could save life and start again, but you can't.

You have a good point there, but with the new forum there is the "report this post to a moderator" option - therefore, if you see a post that you feel a moderator should see, you click the "report" button, and then it sends a copy of the post along with your comment to the moderators/admins for review, and then to adjust the users warning rating accordingly, or to take further action or just delete the post.

And besides, if they delete the flaming message, what's the problem? It's gone then...But like i said, there is the report post function.. which totally negates that form of editing which I'm sure no one thought of until before you said that

also with invision, even after they edit a post, an admin can still see the original post in the database...

logging is a wonderful thing

heh, forgot about that. Might be usefull to have editing then.

And I didn't know Admins could still see the original message.

But then again, maybe we should all be on a 3month trial anyway. If no one starts flaming in that time we could have editing back.

well we've got it now, and a complex warning system, and a better forum entirely, so how bout we just keep it on and see how we're sailing?

Think before you post. The edit feature may go or it may stay, we'll see how things go. :)
