yeah unfortunately you dont get DOD in any of the retail store packages

thats why ill probably buy the collectors edition in store on DVD, and then later on buy DOD source via steam for like US$10 so its all good anyway

well my adsl has a - tastic cap.. so steam isnt an option for me.. plus i like the option the be able to hold the product i have payed for..

so yeah, i'd rather pay the extra $20, get it all on DVD, and get a tshirt, posters and stickers all on the SAME DAY (unlike the "gold" version)

Besides, the collectors edition probably lets you get DOD source via STEAM, its just not allowed to be packed in the box because its owned by a different publisher.

Did anyone think of that?! :)

I got HL2 today. Been playing it for about 6 hours now.

I must admit it's a huge let down.

It's engaging enough in that I want to move onto the next level/mission, but other than that it's very ordinary.

AI are average, level design is horrible (Sorry but it is), the weapons are terrible, and it's more of a puzzle solving game than a shooter, and everything that happens is so predictable.

I.e One instance I walked past a mounted machine gun. Hmmm.... Why is that there? I might just grab a hold of it for a second. Oh, here we go 5 or 6 baddies have just run in ready to be mown down. Yawn.

I'm sure others will enjoy it immensely, but I can't see me playing through the game more than once, unless it gets a lot better from here on in.

the start is a bit predictable..... gets pretty nuts quick tho

storyline was weird tho
