Hey guys, I jsut picked my new case up from the Tempus workshop & i have to say im very impressed.

Aside from the high reflectivness & . from my camera, this case is a fkn work of art. Once its been fully modded she will be swoit.

She is the same green as the new Commodores..

The question was put to both Maj and Tempus, and is of interest to everyone. Its no big deal. (This post was made to stop an arguement forming). -Kaygo

Hey trazz, he can make up pretty much any colour you want. :)

I dont believe it needs to be any special kind of case, just a metal one ;)

James
24-11-2004, 11:34 AM
but plastic can be painted too, right?

*looks at mouse*

or was that 'cause it was only small?

coz i've got an old P233 MMX laptop that would look mad in FPV blue.

hehehehe.

this might be pushing my luck a little bit, but what about keyboards? or monitors?

James
24-11-2004, 12:03 PM
i guess thats possible, but would you wanna be the one that paints 104 individual keys?

if you popped all the keys off and sealed it all up ready then maybe he could paint the keyboard chassis... if you took the plastic off

AlCaTrAzz
24-11-2004, 12:06 PM
i tihnk as far as the keyboard is concerned... it might be easier to just buy one of the coloured alienware ones... but getting the rest of my system modded out could be cool

James
24-11-2004, 12:10 PM
you realise just because you SAID the word "alienware" that your bank account just lost $200

Can he do cd drives?

Hes currently Away on MSN :(

James
24-11-2004, 02:13 PM
cd drives would probably be easy as p**s but i reckon that he'd need more stuff or a case at the same time to make it worthwhile, rather than using his time and resources just for ONE cd drive, if you get my drift

Swearing makes baby jesus cry. So don't!

I can paint anything, plastic, steel, wood, whatever.

I can paint them any colour you like. Any colour can be made.

As for keyboards, monitors, CD drives etc, they can all be done. I just don't really feel like pulling apart equipment so if you can pull things apart as best you can, I can help you out.

Also, when I say I can paint any colour, that means solid, metallic and pearls. That doesn't mean harlequin or chameleon or any of those sort of effect paints.

So, here's the short of it. I can paint pretty much anything, any colour. I may be able to do something for you overnight or it may take a week or so. Just depends on when I have free time at work or how much you're willing to pay me to work through my lunch breaks.

I'm not looking to make huge profits. It's just that I always wanted things painted and never knew anyone who did that . so I'll try to help out where I can.

Any other questions, just post them in the thread so everyone can see the reply.

Not worth it.

James
25-11-2004, 07:09 AM
heh, yeah, i know.

When I get an MX83 and drop a 1jz or a 2jz into it, then she'll be worth it. But the damn thing better not be white. I want colour, damn it! ;)

How much would it cost to get my case metallic purple? And would u consider spraying my mighty boy?

James
25-11-2004, 07:21 AM
Christine, believe me when I say that if it's not worth painting my Cressida, it's not worth painting your mighty boy.

Although there is a lot less surface area because it's smaller.

note: hmm, i just looked for tempus' post regarding costs, I can't see the thread anymore. he did have a price in it before but yeah, can't find it now :|

Wallace rocks. Why wouldn't it be worth painting him? And if tempus won't do it, will find someone who will.

James
25-11-2004, 08:15 AM
you'll spend more than you did on the car just on the paint job, you know... thats what is meant by "not worth it"

I'm sure it WOULD look really good with a fresh coat of paint :)

You could always spray it yourself.

Remove the metal casing.
Spray with etch primer.
Spray with coloured enamel.
Spray with surface primer.

Easy.

moochie
29-11-2004, 05:07 PM
Coogle that would require effort B) I'll just get my dad to do it

I take it you've never been inside a paint shop.... Ever.

GTiRolla
30-11-2004, 04:56 PM
lol....

maybe start with sone sanding, probably 400grade sand paper, then it *may* require some panel work to remove dents & maybe some bog..

then mix some 2k primer 5:1:1 is usually what i've usued and give it about 2-3 coats allowing time to dry between each coat...
prolly 20-30mins since i'm sure you wont have some spare infra red lamps on it  then once the final coat of primer is on, leave to dry for at least 24hr.

*Note - Pull the case apart first * lmfao....

Then get some 800grade wet & dry and some cutting paste ( cant remember what its called atm ) and rub the panel down. so its nice and smooooooooooooooooooooooooooooth... hose off with water and blow off the excess water with a airgun, get some prepsol and wipe over with a clean rag...then mix ur paint , jump in the oven and paint away just put several light coats on otherwise the paint will run and finish off with a few coats of clear..... B)

Once she's cooked and allowed to dry - *hint* overnight is best so the paint has sufficent time to dry, get some faecala polish and buff the panel till its shows your newfound paintjob nice and shiny..

I dont think i missed anything...

No, you are right.
But I don't have excessive money to spend on frivoulous things, so I'd do it myself.

GTiRolla
30-11-2004, 06:22 PM
you dont need to spend lots of money, alot of the cost in spray painting is in the labour.... painting the panel takes bugger all... its all in the prep work

coogle
30-11-2004, 06:30 PM
Basically why I would do it myself. Might not look professional, but certainly cheaper. If I needed a car painted would go to a professional, but for a PC.. nah.
