Hello all,
I am an admin for Lanbash in Lismore NSW.
Just read about your 500 person LAN
Sounds sweet and CCGL has allways looked good from what I have read on your site. So if its the same guys behind Phat LAN then I think a Road Trip is in order.
Its a long way from The north coast... so the biggest factors are weather people are willing to jump in a bus for 6 hours or so and how much its going to cost people for the whole deal.
Most of you probably would not have heard of Lanbash.
We have been running large LANs up here in Alstonvile and now Lismore for about 2 years.
Qualmark Computers just Took over the running of the LAN and has Built a perminate Base in the back of its store to house 160 or so people. In Lismore.
As far as I know its the first One of its Kind in Australia.
Simply because it will only be on weekends and is not a internet cafe.
We have had 168 people to our largest LAN with our smallest being 50 people.
I am going to look into prices for organinsing a trip of this kind. The prizes are good enough to make it worth our while to travel that far I believe as long as we get some interest from our good players.
We have some good COD and some Good CS players up here but we are fairly isolated in terms of competing agaist new blood. Gamesiege is really only the other large LAN close enough.
I imagine it would only be worth our while if we took about 30 people down there.
Probably the best way would be two mini buss's That way people can stick the gear in the bus and not in the luggage storage.
Has anyone else done this before. It would save alot of research time and energy if i could pick somones brain for what works and doesnt work organising such a big bus trip. How do we go about booking around 30 slots once I organise the details?
Cheers,
Jarm
