yeah, from what i've played its ok... nothing spectacular... to me HL2 still feels like a tech demo for a fancy physics engine...

MMM... I haven't played it with other people yet, but it looks like loads of fun. Just need some more toys like HLDM
I've had some good games of it, it is good fun, need more maps for it though

agreed - but they just wanted to get it out the door, which, considering HL2's considerable delays, i'm happy for!

its already been made :(
my stolen idea has been stoeled!
oh well, ill make some other map.
i played a map called aim_tmp - SOOO MUCH FUN. everyone gets a TMP, and only 30 rounds. so you gotta make em count. 32 players on a server, you end up a massive medieval style knife fight... and seriously knife fights look so awesome in cs:source

you can use the textures that are already in CS and half-life 2... rather than make your own ones. Usually they are superior to anything you could hope to make if you've just got a trial version of photoshop anyway :)
Everything that comes in the SDK is enough to make your own really good maps, just as good as the ones that come with CS if you know your stuff.
