[M*A*S*H] own CCGL #19

Finally after many a lan we haven't turned out to be the runner-ups

M*A*S*H won the DoD comp at CCGL #19

First we played -=MM=-.......and as we all know, MASH OWN MM!!!, and as proclaimed, we did......actually it was more of a slaughter, i think the final score was something like 549 - 55 (correct me if i'm wrong) on Anzio

Might I also add to that, we only played the one round cause the forfeited the second match (bunch of wusses)

Now this brought us to the Final round against U11 (past champs of the last 3 ccgl's)......and we all thought it was one of the best matches ever. The final took place on Flash (a very even map, but hard to catch up if you fall behind).....there were many double kills, many grenade kills (some team nade kills after todd runs back to check them out)

first round saw mash as the british and u11 as the axis, it was all systems go form there, the main proportion of the game was centrally, both defenses were good, but it saw u11 capture all flags first.............this kicked mash into gear and not long we scored all the flags aswell.

then with just seconds to go in the first round, mash were ahead by 1 point (after todds cap of the 4th flag).....but a desperate rush by u11 soon put a stop to this capturing the middle flag bringing the first round to a tie of 82-82.

Tensions were high, but it was time for a break, so we all mingled and laughed at how close it was and all the stabbing, doubles, and nade kills we got

teams switched and it was now mashs time to shine, more action packed violence happened, but we seemed to pull it together, holding u11 behind the 3rd flag (although little sneaky u11 MCUD seemed to find his way behind us).......MASH started off with the flag captures this time, capturing all and putting the presure on u11, we defended well and ended up holding them back for a few more flag captures, I think in total we got 4 flag caps, and u11 ended up 2 with a final flag cap jwith 3 min to go in the game

final score for that round was mash 200 u11 93 (could be wrong again, feel free to correct me)

and so MASH stand tall, the champions of the CCGL #19 DoD comp, we'd like to thank all who participated, good job

It was an awesome game... we knew we'd be a little weak having to have Rex fill in for us.. but his insider knowledge paid off.. :P

but it was "THE BEST CCGL GAME EVER!!"

pity the british have such a .ty mg.. or you know dezza would've made you REALLY work for those caps.. :D

it was so funny on the middle flag at the end of the first side.. it went Mash > U11 > Mash > U11... and then fkn toddF grabs the 4th!!! :evil:

Scarecrow was my worst enemy as british tho, his spot behind the sandbags on the middle flag was very well played, and i could rarely get him..

You guys played very well, and woke me up abit.. i was rather confident for flash, as previously, you guys haven't been as apt with the rifle as you were with the SMG.. but somebodies been practicing :shock:

WD, and we'll see if we can take back our crown next LAN :D

it'd be great if both teams could have a full strong team tho.. i'll see if i can get Mr Sam off his lazy ass, and jolt to settle some "disputes" with the rest of CCGL.. :lol:

Was definitely the best game of DoD I've played since MASH's last encounter with U11.

The strange thing is though, that I hadn't played DoD for over 2 months. I think it was just excellent team work on the night by both sides and a combination of skill, respect and adrenaline that got us over the line.

Copious amounts of swearing and yelling from myself would have no doubt played a small role in motivating the MASH boys also.

Even if there were a few slips of the fingers in close quarters that resulted in team bayonets or bullets in the back of the helmet, we managed to hold it together. I'm looking at you Scarecrow. Oh... Right, sorry Todd. I think I got you twice, although they were against MM so it doesn't matter. Hehe

But seriously, awesome game. And thanks to MM too, who always have a go.... For one round at least. You're getting better guys.

Damn right.. i think the reason DoD comp is so good, is you see no where near the level of sportsmanship as you do in CS.. as james pointed out.. there is no "debrief" between the teams mid/post game, and it's allways a good chat afterwards..

lets just face it, DoD is just a better overall game when compared to CS, we don't fully have a psycho fit when we die and throw out headphones at the keyboard to magically bring up OGC (specty i'm looking at you)

My DoD may be falling a bit for next LAN... i been play CoD online straight for the last 3 days, and with DoD 1.1 coming out this weekend, DoD 1.0 is gonna feel pretty weird.. :?

we could always uinite and created the undefeatable force known as MUSH! :lol:

we may be very short of players next LAN.. if the LAN is on in 2 weeks then we'll have like 2 (maybe 3) of our normal crew :cry:
