Okay just a thread to deal with Steam bitches.

My bitch.

The combination of content and login server, with no detail as to what it's doing when.
I'm on dialup, and when trying to re-connect steam, and it's sitting there, apparently doing nothing, or updating, or logging in you can't tell. It would be nice if it logged you in, then updated.

I feel your pain.

It would also be nice that it didnt just freeze up when first starting up when it decides to download critical updates to its files.

Why can't it be like any other auto updater and cache the new files, operate normally until new files are downloaded, then prompt you for installing the update once fully cached?

:S

Right click steam.

Click Monitor.

If its moving.. it's updating..

If its still.. frozen..

heh, yeah once you are logged in, it's the logging in process that annoys me.
