Sounds like spyware.

Scan pc with adaware/spybot

& Get a uninstaller (seperate to windows one) :)

Also try booting in safe mode (F8 key before windows boots) and deleting them there.

dood some random spyware has added itself to ur startup config.

The reason they wernt there is cos safe mode = drivers only.

go > windows > run > msconfig

navagate to the startup tab and look thru there for anything u dont remember installing and uncheck it.

Yeah I got the same thing, so did my girlfriend.

I've run Adaware, Spybot and Spy Sweeper. and it doesn't find anything.

There's nothing in startup either.

The problem's with IE

Press CTR+ALT+DEL and you'll see IE open twice. when you close of them, the icons disappear for a second then come back.

I can't seem to close IE, once you end the process, it just opens back up. =\

Could be a virus using IE, or IE isn't patched to it's latest.

You could try using firewall to block it explicitly from being able to access the net.

I found the problem!

It's messenger plus.

You gotta remove MsgPlus from startup in msconfig and then reboot. They'll go away and so will the opened iexplorer.exe processes.

But I don't get it, some people have msgplus and they have no problem.

And coogle, Are you still selling that 9600xt? I need it! I sent you a PM but you didn't reply. :P

Yes..

..So you'd rather have stupid icons on your desktop than havc messenger plus?

...But I installed version 3.25 afterwards and I haven't had anything pop up.

Yeah, and you click no. That's just making you think that it installs nothing. It always shoves - into your registry behind your back.

Go through the list and make sure that messenger and messenger plus are removed.

Uninstall plus as well. Then do a spyware scan.

It still installs spyware. :P

It just gives you the option to install more if you're stupid.
