HAHAHAHAAHAHAH

What IDIOT decided to plug in a de-humidifyer in a sports hall?

Haven't they heard the tem 'peeing in a thunderstorm'

I'd like to appoligise to Turri too, about our mob moving to the CMV desks. Was a hassle you didn't need. I'd assumed we got permission, otherwise we would never have tried.

the problem is alot of us need phone chargers cos we need our phones, you may say charge it before you leave but when you are using it alot the battery doesnt last

maybe turri should get sponsorship from a phone shop and get usb phone chargers

Or maybe YOU should buy a usb charger, because you've been told DONT PLUG EXTRA THINGS IN. Either that, or Unlug your monitor, or get a power supply that your monitor can plug into. It really isnt that damn hard.

EDIT: Is that sindows in your little pic Icefire? the one with a bag over his head?

I did that with a 8Port switch once. Make sure you use a resistor. Or use the 3V line from the PSU ;)

I have planty of spare cables :) but no decent name psus seem to have the second line.. bear in mind guys that inside the psu its just a double adapter, so ur really doing the same thing as plugging two things in.
I used 4 plugs @ phatlan, but I paid for 2 spots. I you NEED more than 2 plugs, well pay for two spots, its that simple

Are you providing a funding scheme for those people that require just one more socket for something small, power effecient but nessasery that dont have a well paying job like yourself?

Cant make this any more simple.. 2 ports per person.

If you have bought extra devices that need extra spots, then obviously you dont require a "funding scheme". Remarks like this really do nothing but make you look childish.

One final time for those that missed it..

2 power ports per people, thats it. No plugging in powerboards.

Edit**
ppl with the logitec mice and charger, your mice will work when it isnt plugged in, charge your mouse during the night by unplugging your monitor cable...... if you dont want to do this, get normal batteries.

What about limits on PSU power? People with 8 hard drives are pulling more power then someone with a 250watt PSU. And what about CRT monitors, they use more then double the juice of a LCD. Not trying to be a - but these must be taken into consideration when your considering a 3v phone charger. My water cooling connects to the power outside the case with a double adaptor that goes into the PSU before the power cord, is that using more then one plug? It only powers my pump.

EDIT: My phone needs 1 charge a fortnight, my cordless joysticks 3 batterys get replaced about once a month. My mouse is corded like all gamers mice should be. I had nothing else to plug in, but i used a powerboard for surge protection, I only used 2 ports, the "spare" port made on the CCGL board wasnt used, my other 4 ports on the board were not used. Where is the harm?

Osic. Every administrator on the team realise that some computers draw more power than others, however, you need to look at it from the view point of an administrator. Are you suggesting that we open up every one of the 500 or so computers at the lan, and check to see how many HDD's they are running in comparison to other people? No, they dont need to be taken into account at all.

The two port rule is a way for us to administer power at the lans quickly (and in most cases successfully), it is not a point that can be argued, its the way it is.

That being said, if any of you were actually reading what was being said, you would realise we are not limiting your current draw or equipment plugged in, but the plugs on our boards. The fact that we are only limiting it to that is a plus for you, if you can actually read between the lines.

Just in addition.. My fileserver is watercooled and has over 10 drives, 2 cpus and 3 power supplies. At the lan, I dont use one of the power supplies, and I have cable that plugs into both the other power supplies. So im running all that off one plug... Get the idea?

So, again. 2 plugs is all you get. No powerboards, no extra plugs.

Why? just have a small one on top of your case, one power in, two power out?

Duckslayer

I don't think UPS's are gunna be allowed, and to tell you the truth they are pretty pointless, there is no need for them unless your one of those people that thinks if the power goes out its gunna corrupt your HDD, and if you are one of these people, im sorry but get over it, my HDD are fine and I just unplug my PC without shutting it down and it works fine.... :-P

The computer loosing power is not the onlt reason for a UPS, it is also the impurities in the power, my power here can jump from 193VAC to 258VAC in a matter of seconds which kills motherboards. Surge Protector Boards (Unless Belkin) dont do much unless the surge is so big it wipes out your powerpoint.

How is bringing a UPS any different to a fan, its simple, it isnt needed.
If you need a UPS stay at home, coz your over reacting, whats next a thumb scanner and a padlock? Seriously UPS's arnt needed unless you have something that cannot go down unexpectedly.....a normal PC isnt one of these

I have seen surge arresors been hit by lighning and still have the light on even after they are clearly dead, thats why i use UPS, you know its dead when its dead
