I have a 200GB Western Digital ATA drive, which has continual problems with corrupted data and files getting deleted. I also have an A7N8X-E DELUXE nFORCE 2 Motherboard.
I have heard some rumors that these will clash, but that there is a bios fix. Does anyone know about this? Has this happened to you?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

If there is a bios fix then goto the manufature's website and look.
If they made a fix it will be:
-On the website
-Documented
-Discussed on their forums if they have such a feature

Or try the HD in another computer.
Or check to see if your cables are damaged.

I had a look on the site but the setup is a bit weird.
Does anyone know about this issue?

This might help
-- Enable support for HDD above 137 GByte --
Win2k-SP3 and WinXP-SP1 supports 48 Bit LBA (Logical Block Addressing), though one have to enable it manually to get access to the HDD space beyond 137 GByte (Ofcourse the IDE BIOS has to be able to support 48 Bit LBA too, your motherboard *should*).
This is done with the following DWORD registry key :
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE \SYSTEM \CurrentControlSet \Services \atapi \Parameters]
EnableBigLba = 1
If the drive was formatted and partitioned in an os with 48-bit lba support and then moved to an os without it, you get problems if this nature

Ok... I have an "aquired" copy of XP running atm that doesn't allow an SP1 install.
I know i am an evil person for not buying XP but i am getting one next week.
Could this be the problem? if so it should be resolved next week...

Yep that'd be it, no 48 bit lba support most likely... remember you also need to put in the registry command, although I think if you go all the way up to sp2 its there automatically
