remember the mod is really only in a planning stage atm... we have alot of rough ideas and concept drawing that we will be moulding into an actual plan over the next few weeks...
one thing that i think is very important though is to have alot of feedback along the way to make sure the end result is somthing we can all enjoy

And as me and alcatrazz had to clean up before we don't appreciate pointless spam from people such as kaneh. so please, if you have a negative point of view yes tell us, But don't put it in the toolish spam form That kane has already done

we have alreadfy discussed this and this is one of the bugs we plan to fix, or have an option so that you can leave it on classic style, or the new mode where on respawn you go back to normal
the commedy factor of a game with nothing but trnquilisers in PD was so cool ;)

Yes, Perfect Dark Zero is the actual "Prequal" to the game. It was initially intended to be developed for Game Cube... I think this was before they realised what the Game Cube actually was ;)
From what I gather, the project was cancelled for a period of 3 months when they decided to cancel work on the game cube version. After this period some genius came up with the idea of doing it for XBox, which is where we will very shortly be seeing it. Now that the game is basically worked out, they are foolishly looking at modding it back to game cube platform aswell, and there are minor considerations for a PC version to follow.
I unfortunately do not have a link for you handy, but if you have any specific questions, I might be able to help you out.

OK, I have done a check up and I appologise for my innacuracy earlier.
The reality of the situation is that the devlopers do not actually have a release date set. Work is nice and on scedule (apparently) but they wont tell us yet. I dont anticipate a 2005 release in otherwords.
The PDZ will still be being released on Game Cube as it was originally intended. This has no impact on the quality of the Game Cube. The reason it has now been changed over so XBox will be the primary console for the game is due to Rare being bought by good old Microsoft. They have now taken over the development.
Due to it now being Microsoft's, there will be a PC version, but not until the console version has been released.
I'm still to confirm if this site is official or a fan site, but none the less, more information can be obtained from, www.pdzero.com
If you have a look at some of the images from this site, I unfortunately must say that Unreal Graphics are even going to blow PDZ out of the water... which is a bit sad.

just remember that it a console release, and will have worse gfx. they will be badly done, but look good because of the blurring of the TV screen. Console games on a pc monitor look so bad because of the lack of blur. The pc version would look way better... And also, are you guys gunna release it as a UT2k4 mod, or a seperate game (i take it will be a mod type release) and also, will we get to alpha and beta test it? that would be so leet. like, exclusive CCGL testage, and would have a server up at the ccgl after its released...

Yeah, you are right about the graphics on console, and dont get me wrong, I was just yesterday admiring how amazing those console developers can make a game given what they work with.
Also, as for your question with Alpha and Beta testing, as it stands at the moment, yes. CCGL will be exclusively testing it at least through the Alpha stage. We will still offer Beta tests to CCGL, just maybe not exclusive. But we will see where we go with that when the time comes.
And yes, we will be running PD2k4 servers at CCGL when that time comes also.
As for the release, it is currently planned to be a mod release, and definately not a separate game. This is primarily due to legal implications. We do not hold an exclusive developers license for the unreal engine, and thus will have to use the free license that is open for mods, not separate developments.
We will make CCGL well aware when we are ready for some testing and you will get a chance to experience the nostalgic glory of PD then.
Please note also, as we will soon be announcing, as a part of our preparation for the mod, we will be making UT2k4 versions of some of the maps. This is just to test some areas like distance conversions etc. This means it will be a PD level with UT weapons and movements (such as jumping as previously unseen in PD)

woot! seriously but, if this mod gets pulled off flawlessly, we could see the new DC (in the fact that it is a kick ass mod, that everyone will play) Cant wait for an alpha... How long do you think it will be till you have a playable alpha of teh game? cant wait to hook in B)

at this stage we are hoping to have some playable maps complete by the end of this weekend, with the final touches on those maps probably taking about 2 weeks
remember that these will simply be UT2004 DM maps, but will be the same maps that once we port over the PD content, will form the MP component of the mod...
i'm actually working on PD-Area52 at the momment...
as for a alpha build of the mod with PD content, i wouldn't expect that for at least a month or 2... we need to find a decent moddler and a texture artist as well as starting to code the new physics engine and gameplay

can u make random stuffs on the ground that you can throw around like on halflife 2 just to make it more realistic? it doesnt have to add into the original, just make it another nice little realism piece or sumthing. i get endless fun throwing cans at guards...

our goal here is to recreate PD using the new engine, not recreate HL2 using the new engine...
the beauty of PD lay in it's gameplay and thats what we are out to recreate... we will be improving area's that we can, but not if that will fundamentally change the game.
an example of this is fixing the tranquiliser bug in multiplayer, however server admins will have the option weather or not to implement these fixes (through a server variable)
however, through recreating the maps we will add small details in the form of static meshes which will make this look really good...

it wouldnt make it heaps different, just more realistic, get a city/dirty feel in all the levels in that type of area. I dont mean make it totally HL2, just make them there, and move when u shoot them, and kick em and whatnot.
Here's a question for you all. Why are people asking about the engine and details to be added to the game in a thread titled "Desktop Wallpapers"? I realise there isn't a thread like that yet, but if you want to discuss it then you can make one. Also, by doing this, you'll make it easier for me to get the feedback from you guys so we can use it in our development.
So yeah, a little bit of off topic is fine I guess, but if you want some serious discussion, and it doesn't fit in, make a new thread ok? Thanks.
