View Full Version : Gt4 - Nurburgring Challenge

The Nurburgring Nordschleife (North Loop) has been the road race circuit used by every car and tyre manufacturer, appreciated for its real-world road surface, bumps and idiocincrices.
To make this challenge fair, there is only 1 rule... The circuit must be accessed via Arcade mode. This limits the amount of available cars and their states of tune. But there are some real rockets in Arcade Mode, so get circulating...
BTW, The production car record for Nordschleife
7m 32s - Porsche Gemballa GTR 600 (Tuned Car)
7m 56s - Porsche GT3 (Stock)
These times are always tit-for-tat with other cars like Nissan GTRs etc...
So post your times...

I been jumping in different cars, just to see what suits my style...
I did a 7m 18s in a lister storm, but it was an ugly lap...
I did a 8m 30s in a Ford Typhoon... That was a joke...

Just the stock Dual Shock here... I have nowhere for a wheel and won't buy one till I've had a go at someone else's...
So many times I've had a go at a nice looking wheel, only to be very dissappointed...
Also, depending on the car's peculiar steering, I'll use the buttons instead of the analog sticks...

Ok sorr yto take this offtopic abit but i was woundering is this game worth it to say.... Half-life 2, because i am considering purchasing both but only have enough for one... So If you guys had to chose, what would you get?

I'm a PC nut, so if I had to chose, it'd be HL2 (Only for CSS)
But... I bought a PS2 only, and I mean only for GT4. No other driving game is like GT4... other may be entertaining, but I love the reality of this game...
Why not buy the steam account with HL2 being sold elsewhere in these forums, and then join another person who wants a wheel, and get them to buy it with GT4 so it ends up cheepa?

u can plug almost anything into ps2 with the right adaptor some games even support keyboard and mouse

The challange is for Arcade mode...
7min 20 in a 350z JGTC 500 car
thats with the wheel, it is alot harder than the gamepad

Try the Lister Storm sho3...
A guy on the PS2 forum posted a 6:55 in one and used a wheel and manual gerabox...
He said it was on full feedback and he could barely move his arms after the second lap... which was his ultra fast lap...

I love this game.. Though Ive been using the normal PS2 controller.. Cant get used to the stearing wheel.. Feels like Im gonna snap it everytime I turn the wheel, really doesnt want me to do it ;(

I don't think so.... because it has a A-spec points count in the stats when you go to the garage...

it was the .test lap, i came off a couple of times and even had a spin
the car is very responsive to the bumps on the track so it skips out easily

Yeah, I got that one... and if you compare it to standard M3/M5/GT3 cars v Nismo GTR v M3 GTR you can see the step up each category.
