Help With New Hard Dizk

I got brand noo WD 80 gig (7200rpm) and it shows in the bios, but not in the list of HDD's in My Computer. Need a program that will format it and make a partition and stuff. I tried Partition Magic 8 but apon install it asked for some floppy disk and I'm like err wtf? Lol please help the noob :P

A partition can be created in Window XP without the need for Partition magic.

it should show up in windows no matter if it's formatted is it plugged in?

It will only show in windows if it has a PARTItON on it, formatted or unformatted.

Brand new drives come with NO partitions formatted or otherwise.

Therfore it is nessesary to CREATE a partion and then FORMAT it before it is useable.

aight kewlies. got it sorted. Needed toturn on the show adminitrator tools in start menu. T <_< hats why i couldnt see the thingy needed to do it. Its formatting as i type... <_<

lol i never ever bought a BRAND NOO hard disk. hell i never even owned a piece of (expensive, over about $50) hardware for this PC lol. Im a cheap mofo (read cheap as lacking of money, not tight a$$ed ;)
