Trying to setup a wireless link into my uni with no avail. And the Uni doesnt support Linux @ all for wireless, so they no help.
How ever wireless worked on windows - so im assuming it has to work in linux as well.
Cause i dont want to do testing @ uni i would like to arrange to borrow a Wireless Access Point if someone has a spare or one that isnt being used.
It would be a great help :)
For anybody interested in trying to help me, i run
Mepis 3.3 (Kernel 2.6.10) /w KDE 3.3
LG LS50a Centrino Laptop
ipw2100 is the module name for wireless
wireless has been mapped to eth0
Access Point Configuration @ Uni
SSID - UniWide
No Auth of any kind - apart from MAC address filtering
No WEP
DHCP IP Assigned.
I have been able to detect the wirless link @ uni but iam unable to be assigned a IP address. The link has 100% signal strength where i am testing @ uni.
Thanks in Advance
