The new drives are 2.5 millimeters thick and store 10G bytes of data. This makes them half the thickness of the 1-inch drives sold by Hitachi Global Storage Technologies (HGST). The highest capacity 1-inch drives currently on sale store 6G bytes.

No more than it would suck dropping an ipod.
If it's only 2.5mm thick im sure they could spare a few mm of shock-resistant padding to protect the hdd from minor bumps and shunts or drops
