been playing EVE for a few hours now.. have to say... very happy with it..
graphics are sexc as.. has a nice freelancer feel to it..
controls are a bit different and take a bit to get used to.

Yes thats correct, i was scouting i believe, doing a partrol to make sure no enemy were infringing on my alliances territory. It's a fun game and i got paid for doing the patrol. (ingame money not real money)

I'm stock on the first ship have bought a tristan but don't have the piloting skills for it (and it was going to take 2 days to research it)soo I'm researching increased learning speed and we should be there in no time.

Ill give anyone from CCGL that gives it a go 250k to start off.. That should be enough to adleast get you out of the rookie ship, and into the Tristan (top Gallente Frigate). Only thing I ask in return, is that if you decide not to keep playing after the 14 days, transfer any of the $ and gear you have collected over to me, because I can make use of it ;P

As well as 250k to get started, I do regular mining ops and other bits and pieces, if you want to tag along, we can split the loot evenly, regardless of how much you contributed.

MR2 - Im waiting to see what he has too.. After a couple of weeks at the game:

1 x Thorax
3 x Iteron IV
3 x Tristan
5 x Atron
5 x Navitas

The Thorax is a beast, I use it in fights.. Iterons are haulers.. Tristans are fast little bastards setup for Electronic Warfare, or quick fights.. Atron and Navistas are throw away ships for fun :P

I sent you 250k yesterday, and I can give you more if it helps.. The HQ for the Anzac Alliance is in Oursulaert (just use the map button and type in "ours".. You'll find it straight away.. The majority of the alliance is on the station at Planet VII, Moon 4.

Work on your skills above all else.. Money is easy to make, skills are what takes the time ;P

ok my ships include:

from lamest to best: (ones i own, i can fly other ships but i havn't bought them yet)

n00b ship - i have them all over the place because i travel by pod sometimes.
kestrel - caldari missile boat frigate (i have about 4 of these at various stations)
Merlin - Caldari light fighter frigate (these sorta suck but i have 3)
Osprey - Caldari Mining cruiser (2 of these they are best cruiser for mining in because of bonuses.
Caracal - Caldary Heavy Missile boat cruiser (these are pretty cool (5xHeavy launchers)
Ferox - (this is a Battle Cruiser)
Crow - This is an interceptor, the main ship i fly around. very fast. very agile, fast lock speed
Scorpion - Battleship, i dont own this one yet but i can fly it.

it seems to only take 3 placements due to lack of CPU power, even with upgrades it does not seem to have the ability to take more than 4 mining lazers (class 1)

Thats not a bad thing.. 4 lasers on a ship that size is about the best of its class.. Im using an 8mill cruiser, and I can only fit 5 :P

EvE Radio is a cool online radio station with DJ's who run competitions and so on. You can win ISK, Ships, Modules, etc. But generally its just a good mix of music from different countries.

DJ's are not on all the time but for us At night (after 11pm and early morning until 8am) is usally when they are on, (weekdays), and most of the time on weekends.

It's all good. when the DJ's are not on, a playlist will play and you can request songs on the site.

the 2 x best lazers for mining that are not stupidly expensive strip miners are the
XECL Lazer 1 with 95% efficency (47 mined for 48 energy used)
Modulated Deep mining lazer 2 140% Efficency(120mined for 80 energy used)

now to see how to most efficently get them onto a ship

ok the most turrets on any ship is 8...so for 8 x XECL's you need 384 CPU(tf's) and 650 for the DML2's now to get ~cost and ship that with fewest upgrades can do said mining

Edit 2:

so far the best value for mining lower class ships are the Crom with 5 x XECL of Destroyer class followed by in BC class the Cyc and Proph with 5 x DMMC2's each

BS are another matter becouse you then need defence on your huge arsed ship, so you'd probably want no more then 6 x DMMC2's which IIRC most will do also to add into the equasion are Mining Drones

Miner II's are what everyone uses who has been playing longer then the trial :P

my cruiser fits 3 of them and has very little CPU left after that.
my cruiser is equiv to 5 miner II's because of my skills bonuses.


when you are mining you usually dont fight. especially in lower security area's. When i mine i pay someone to sit in a shield or armour tanked battleship and then i warp into the field when they are attacking him. he just sits there and takes the damage while i mine and ignore the enemies because they ignore me.

(this is with NPC rats you find in mining fields)

hiring someone to do this is not cheap. usually it works on a everyone splits what they mined equally with the person who is taking he damage. or in my case with my corp leader he does it for 20% of what i mine. (it is a high risk job for them to do it)

You dont just come in shoot the enemy's then start mining because the enemies might spawn while you are in your miner and destroy you before you can move.

depends on a few things, destroyers just dont have the cap usually.

and my cruiser mines the equivalent of a medium mining barge when i have my skills up.

its not how many lasers you can fit, its how much you can mine per cycle.

Err.. In your destroyer you can fit:
4 x Miner Is..

4 x 40 = 160m3 a minute.. Means about 12k isk per minute mining veldspar. 720k an hour.

On my Thorax:
5 x Miner IIs.

5 x 70 = 350m3 a minute.. Means about 26k per minute mining veldspar.. 1.6mill an hour..

Big Difference :P

Btw.. The biggest Gallente BC (which Ill show you tonight).. Has less CPU that my Thorax cruiser.

yeah I only realised that you needed CPU after I got the cat :(

the CORM can take 5 x XECL which mine at 47x5 (235Mining Units) + no drones
the Thorax can take 5 x M2 which is 60x5 + 40 drones (can you get 40 drones to mine at once? price of 40 Elite drones?) 1500MU's
the Proph 5 x DMM2 120x5 + 15 drones 1050MU's


dunno how the ships Vs the Drones would go though pricing wise...Vil's ship is only 8k...the one I'm aiming at is 23k, anyone know the price of elite drones? anyone know about the limits of being able to use mining drones etc.

Im not in the Thorax anymore (8mill), Im in a Brutix (30mill). Ill see how many MIIs I can use on it later :P

Couple of points -
* Learning engineering / electronics skills will give you CPU / PG bonuses.
* Learning mining skills give you ore collection bonuses (my MIIs pull mid 70s per hit).
* You require drone skills for controlling drones, it takes a long time to get them, and there is certainly a max, that is alot less than 40 ;P
* Only basic drones and harvesters are available at the moment.. Harvesters cost 12mill each.. So you wont be using those.. So basic is your only choice.
* If you want to mine, start training for mining based ships, not fighter ships :P

High - 6 x MinerII.
Mid - All cap rechargers (the miner IIs drain my cap something fierce).
Lows - All co-processor 1s ;P

A pirate attacked one of our large barges yesterday.. So most of the team has frigates setup for war now. Death by Frigate blob :P Damn pirate was in a Wolf, and we were all in BC/BS.. So we couldn't catch the little 750m/s twirp.

For any of you EVE players.. Keep in mind that about 3 today, the server goes down for awhile while the new updates are setup.. They have quoted 12 hours, but it will likely be more.. Get those long skills training :P
