kk atm my vid card's dieing and the gigabyte mobo's giving me the .z
so am in the market for new vid card and mobo,
at the moment i'm looking at:
ASUS A8N-SLI Deluxe - for the mobo (please no coments about getting an intel system :P)
and
XFX 6600GT - for the vid card
i got AMD 64 3000+
just wondering people's oppinions about these, before i but them.
if u have any sugestions / comments before i buy they's be appriciated very much ^_^
EDIT: yes i realise there's a typo in the title but i can't change it so meh
get the ATI 800 or 850 chip for SLI that might actually work in the games you play... only thing on the mobo would be have a look at the benchies at toms for a comparison that includes most boards similar in specs to yours.

i got my expertvision 6600GT yesterday and love it :D
so much better than my ti4400
awesome Bang-for-the-Buck
I doubt it..and you'd only want 1 hell..I'd probably scrimp more on your CPU then graphics card

erm just a quick question here i may be confused, what do u mean by
get the ATI 800 or 850 chip for SLI that might actually work in the games you play
and i all ready got the processor, just said that i have it for reference.
also how much do u think i should be spending on my vid card to make the upgrade worth it?
am after all oppinions here
have a good read about what anandtech and toms have had to say about the Crossfire stuff it is very much pushing ATI's solution and I mean for now rather then next year when nvidia's drivers are stable
i have no idea what the pricing is worth it, but unless your budget is less than 200 I'd push her up to the price of a 800

if you're going to be building around a 3000+, and 6600gt, I'd suggest getting a pci-e mobo on the cheap (sli not really important, since we don't know for sure if ait or nvidia will be the best option, and I reckon it's kinda silly to force yourself into one or the other at this point)
In any case with only a 3000+ cpu the 6600gt would be more than sufficient to game with... a 6800gt would be nice.. but hey its more $$

Currently running my 3000+ with an Epox 9NPA Ultra+ (Nforce 4) at 2.6ghz and a leadtek 6600GT Extreme PCI -e
Very nice combination, dont know if this board is avaliable in aus but if you can find it anywhere it would be a damnsight cheaper then the A8N and still has some really good overclocking features.
Wouldn't be going SLI at the moment, its just too buggy right now
