Was gunna start drooling for one of these... I've had one on my mind for a while ever since the MX1000 came out and the G5 was announced. (I hate cordless mice and the thought of a 2000DPI Lasermouse just turned me on)

Sad part is though, even though they have followed the traditional shape from MX500 > MX700 > MX510 > MX518, they have taken away one of the thumb buttons... YES!, only 1 thumb button exists now...

Tragedy at its finest...

Oh well... soldier on with my MX500 & MX518

:(

Can't think of any solution to your problem. Microsoft mice don't have thumb buttons, let alone two IIRC. What's your gripe with cordless mice? Stop denying technology and embrace the revolution.

Buy This. (http://www.logitech.com/index.cfm/products/details/US/EN,CRID=2162,CONTENTID=10709)
From Here. (http://umart.net/au/product_info.php?manufacturers_id=&products_id=102990)

I've had the G5 since last friday, and once you install the Logitech software it's absolutely fantastic. I love it, and I've been through an MX300, MX310, MX500, MX510 and now this :D

Spending thousands of dollars on a chit-hot system to then go and use a wireless mouse on for gaming is the funniest thing in computing...

ppl would rather look leet with a cordless... what a joke...

cordless will always be slower than corded... anyone who buys a cordless and claims its as fast as a corded needs rehab...

Why spend so much on a mouse (G7) that simply does not perform?

btw buzzbyte (http://www.buzzbyte.com.au/Logictech%20G7%20cordelss%20laser%20Mouse.htm) have the G7 listed... for the fashion conscious...

AusPcMarket have them for pre-order...

Why let the G7 when the G9 is already in the works?
I'm still using my 2button serial mouse cuz somethings always around the corner cuz I keep waiting.

As for cordless being faster than corded... well Ima gonna be going back to a corded mouse soon.. I'm just waiting for one that's worth my money to come around

with the quality of wireless improving so much latley i'd be surprised if there was any difference at all, so it basicly comes down to what ever works for you

What you need to do is bind the back button to (Alt+left) and it will work in both.

actually, there will always be latency involved in transmitting the signal, receiving it and then converting it to USB data no matter what radio technology you use, there will be increased latency, however if it is implemented properly, such a thing would be hardly noticable, still it isn't as bad as those who buy cordless joysticks.

think about that for a second, joysticks remain stationary and you sit near the screen. that does not make sense!
