Valve has released some info on the new Steam UI (User Interface). If you'd like to see it add -clientbeta betaui to the steam.exe line of your Steam shortcut.

I think they should get the "Friends" network 100% going and fixed before they start playing with GUI's.

Not too bad I reckon, I like the 2nd screenshot with the more graphical display on game updates.

Saves right clicking and pressing props.. lol

Hmm *drools* looks good. Make it stable and i'll support Valve. So many f'ing update errors and problems its not funny. I agree with Brett 100% the friends network would be helpful.

yeah instead of making it look better they should address the issues that it already has rather than potentially plague it with new ones.

Right click > Properties > Target = C:\Steam\Steam.exe -clientbeta betaui

It will update after you restart steam...

It doesnt work ive tried reinstallin steam but it still doesnt work.
i think ill wait till valve releases it

omfg i managed to get the new ui up it started updating my steam games and as soon as it did cpu useage went to 90% for the duration of the update that's the only thing running, i hope whatever that was gets fixed :s

Im sticking to the normal Steam. Ma games work fine now. <3 old gay looking steam.

You'd be right.... I guess its not a beta anymore :/ I'll try it on my server tho as it's never used the 'beta' ui

bro i dont understand your sig, I have never had any of the issues that it describes. The only problem Iv had is the friends network signs out.

Oh and compression errors through linux install but thats expected, I think that the ppl who wrote that gif use dialup & not a real connection like 512 or perhaps 1500.

it really sucks that any 3rd party mod that wants to use the source engine has to go through steam...

altho, considering how CENSORED is comming along, i cant complain ;)

i got 512/128 and i've had update problems, it gets half way through updating steam and just stops you have to reboot to get it to finish

That sig is very old.. I remember heaps of people using it when STEAM first came out as a final with HEAPS of issues.

Then people discovered fps_max 100 and stuff, and sorta stopped whinging.

STEAM has grown alot, sure people whinge when it does have the odd downtime, but get over it.

omfg cs = life = no playing = no me = dead.

Just go out and get a root or something.
