1. Holden tyre going THROUGH THE EFFING WINDSCREEN OF OUR BEST DRIVER... GG_OWNED
2. Holden Driver HITTING AMBROSE'S CAR!!! LEARN TO DRIVE FFS
in the end, if you made it through the 161 laps win an intact car, you deserve to win

when holden runs a motor designed and built here in australia, i will respect them.
but when ford is already running a motor designed and built in australia. they have my respect

lol pwnd beefy
The cars are based on either Commodore or Falcon production bodyshells, but from there almost every component is modified and some (such as differentials and gearboxes) are identical in all cars in the category. Engines are 5.0 L V8 with pushrod actuated valves and electronic fuel injection. Both Ford and Holden engines are based on racing engines from their respective US parent companies.

Even though I am a Ford man, I'm not much into this racing style anymore... good for crashes only... (Bring back normal touring cars with minimal changes)
See, other than the body shell, nothing is from a falcon or commodore you see on the road. As said before, many components are shared across each team whether ford or holden.
The other thing I don't like about this racing, is that its parity racing, meaning the rules change constantly so no 1 car or team dominates.
It all started with the ford sierra turbos and nissan gtrs... they ate everything in their path and back in them days, when minimal things were able to be done (if you had the money, you could also build a street version with the bolton parts) to each car, and it was not parity racing, so if you lost a lot, then it was up to your car manufacturer to do something about it...
Take the production 12 hour race around mt panorama. The mazda rx7 head 2 head with the porsches. year after year, man, what a race... they never penalised the mazda for winning, it was up to porsche to come up with a better car.
What about the targa tasmania? Again, racing with porsche dominating, with gtrs and so on biting at their heels. (nissan won the last targa btw)
The saying "win on sunday, sell on monday" was about cars you could buy being raced on the track. If anyone buys a falcon or commodore because of the avesco v8 supercars, it shows how bogan they really are...

well said, pretty much sums it up
100% with you there faux, they banned the cossa and gtr because they were to dominant... Build a F$%@N better car to compete don't just ban them. The tin top racing scene would be heaps better off with it this way. What is it with p plater bogans in commos that brings out the bogan in them. I mean come on I was driving into erina last night after the race and the amount of tools in there falcondores trying to race was unbelivable. WAKE UP MORONS unless you have a V8 or s/c or tbo in the boats they are not very fast.
Go the rant
DAMN YOU BoGANS TO HELL !!!
This might help to
wonder if I could fit 2 of those

Skafe had it one from te start .. didnt push hard and had the better strategy for the race. He coached his car around the track for the first laps and well it worked. Not exactly the car at all. Has also to do with driver and their strategy

1: haha lowndes used to drive for holden, look how well he is going now :P
2: yeah a small tap in a tight spot at the point which all the weight was on the front of the car, causing the downforce on the back to reduce and allow it to lose grip, hardly what i would call bad driving, maybe its a good thing Ambrose is moving on.
I must say, that was the second best win for Skaife i've ever seen, the plastic bag incident that almost Destroyed the HRT 01 in 2002 where the coolant reached 117 degrees on the last lap was the best. good to see skaife win again, only 3 bathurs wins away from the legend peter brock.

Same race venue but I don't think modern racing wins at Bathurst can compare to the old days.
Cut-off point was about VL Walkinshaw - XE ESP days...

You're definately right, but for the current generation of drivers, Skaife is definately the best out there. plus the fact that early in his career he was driving with brock, so maybe he learnt a thing or two.
