why are people so amazed whenever a new video card comes out thats better than older ones?

i remember when the GF4 Ti series came out, websites were claiming that this was the fastest video card that would ever be made... now it cant even run bf2...

i think it was anandtech... but not really sure... as it was the time i was looking for a new video card, i ended up going around all the hardware sites i could find to get opinions...

Im not really interested in 3dMark scores, I always thought of ppl that use 3dmark as being nerdy fcktards who have no life. Trying to show who has the bigger e-penis.

My computer is for social purposes... Music, Guitar Tabs, MSN & the occasional LAN, iv had the same pc for the past 3 years & dont really intend on upgrading anytime soon.
