The old Futura was traded for this Ghia. I also allowed the FO1337 plates to go with the Futura... I like this colour with yellow plates.
I gotta let yous know that the dealer delivered the car for free from phuking Grafton. The dealer was also the only dealer to give me full price for my car and lower the price on this car enough to make it affordable. They sell some of their cars via the net through Carsales, Carpoint and Drive.com etc. They strike up a deal and drive the car to your door and if you have a trade-in, they drive that back.
Thanks to Mighty River Automotive (http://www.mightyriver.com.au/)

Ha... love it...
I've only ever been an auto man since the footoorah... considering 99% of my driving is to work and back, the auto is the cool...
Yes, the auto is one of those tiptronic autos... I think all BAs have them including XRs.
Those plates cost $100 a year and only a handfull of ppl knew what it was. Plus the yellow plates suit the colour of this one.
The trick is with this car? Not having an accident while playing with the audio/climate control chit...
Can't wait to see ads0r's newie...

I'm a bit of a holden fanboy but i must admit, the new series since BA have been great,Commodores are still based on the layout of the VT which is pretty goddamn old. and i can admit that holden need to catch up in the build quality side of things.
but still go holden!
oh and nice car faux :P

We have an automotive section?
My previous fords have been;
1965 XP Sedan in White
1974 XB GS Panel Van in Red/Black
2001 AUII Futura in Winter White
That makes 4 fords, and 1 holden... a VB sedan.

Cheers again...
The BA is having problems. After finding cappacino froth in my coolant reservoir, the ford guys replaced the radiator saying the seal broke inside allowing the auto trans fluid into the engine coolant...
I picked it back up this arvo and before getting a chance to do a run, it did it again with tranny oil leaking from a small hole in a hose I don't think tranny oil is supposed to be :/
Anyhow, I nursed her home but she overheated and popped the top hose... grrrrrrr
Its such a nice smooth car to drive but I aint had a chance to drive it yet... :(

They were buckets of krap... Made in Ireland, then when they were delivered to the U.S. they had to be rebuilt from the ground up as they were falling apart... Heavy and way underpowered, you'd only ever own one to put in your bar to oogle at over a beer with ya mates...

bull. man im serious, the ones around these days are in working order and had all their problems fixed, the original problem was that the factory hired people who had no clue as to what they were doing and that had no previous working experience.

I was in Ireland when I watched a 2 hour special on the Delorians on their local TV one night.
Keep the back to the future romance... that's all they're good for...
When the first back to the future came out, there was a delorian kitted out with movie accessories on display at westfield in Miranda Fair. I was gobsmacked and in love.
Several years later I saw one for sale for low dollars and I asked my old man "Why so cheap?" He says "Looks nice but they're a piece of chit".
Nearly 20 years later this was confirmed after watching that doco in Ireland.
Don't get me wrong, they are a nice car on the eye, but that's all ya getting...

Update @ 14/11/05
They replaced the hoses/coolant reservoir/radiator and have flushed it.
I picked it up and took it for a good spin (faster than my old footoorah) and brought it back to them to check it out. You could see the oil layer on the top of the coolant in the new reservoir and they said let it all come out and come back friday and we'll flush her again. There's only a coupla hoses that haven't been replaced so at next service I may ask them to change them too so everything is new.
Even though they machined the front rotors, they did their usual job, meaning they only took a little off instead of machining back heaps to ensure its perfect. I can still hear/feel a little niggle, but that don't matter, I knew I'd be up for a set of DBA sports rotors.
There's another ghia online with same colour and a few less ks for 32,990 so I still consider myself lucky.
