View Full Version : Xbox chipping.
Ok, i'm getting an Xbox around Xmas time and was hoping to chip it so i don't scratch the - out of my orig. games, so does anyone know of a good place taht chips consoles and also installs software and hdd's?
Hopefully fairly cheap, maybe just over $200 for a 200Gig hdd and around $50 for the Alladin XT chip, installation around the same price as the chip.
..Anyone?

My opinion:
Xbox's are going out of the market fast with the 360 being released next year. Xbox's now are good for playing treasured games, or with a chip, playing movies and basically the potential of a HTPC.
btw.
Alladin chips are cheap and are not worth $50. (I'm not sure if you got given a price, or that is an estimate).
The following place I'm about to give you stocks probably the 2 best chips on the market. The Duo-X2 and the Xecuter 3.

I originally got my 1st Xbox chipped here. Paramatta guy, Hahn.

Also, before calling anyone, it's handy to know your version.
Assuming it's a new Xbox, it's most probably v1.6
But it doesn't hurt to check :D

Just wait till the 360 actually comes out, cuz there'll be planty of chipped xboxes on ebay then
Thanks Brett, appreciated.
There may be plenty of chipped Xbox's on ebay but then again it will be second hand and i won't have thepleasure of knowing i paid and researched the setup myself.
Also the 360 coming out (and the Xbox going "out of the market") Means that all old games (no backwards compatability on the Xbox 360) won't be played, and i quite like them and i may be able to get the cheaper as time goes by.
Thanks alot Brett. If anyone else knows somewhere closer to me (newcastle area or on the CC if need be) that could come in handy, if not i'll organise it with this place.
Cheers.

Yeah, but im pretty sure your going to have to re-buy them for the 360 eg:Halo 2.5 (http://www.gearlive.com/index.php/news/article/halo_25_to_launch_with_xbox_2/)

i know of a guy in ettalong that does it out of his house, my mates have gotten their boxes chipped through him. he usually would charge $95 which includes the chip and installation, don't know which chip he uses though but it is compatible with Evo-X

negative, there will be an emulator that you download free off microsoft's site, and it runs the most popular games from xbox1
