Ok guys, i'm hoping to upgrade my system after xmas (gotta get some chrissy shopping out of the way first) and was hoping you'd tell me what you think of these items:

MSI K8N Neo4 Platinum AMD Motherboard (socket 939)

Mobo link (http://www.umart.com.au/pro/products_listnew.phtml?id=10&id2=21&&bid=4&sid=9641)

AMD Athlon™ 64 3500+ Processor Retail (939)

CPU link (http://www.umart.com.au/pro/products_listnew.phtml?id=10&id2=14&&bid=4&sid=11929)

512MB TWINX-3200C2 (400MHz) DDR RAM Corsair

RAM link (http://www.umart.com.au/newindex2.phtml?bid=4)

If i put those with my HDD's and my soundcard i will have a decent 64-Bit system no?

I'm hoping to get a gfx card after my bday...Which ftw?

I reckon you need more ram. Get a 2x512gb kit minimum. You can save by getting generic stuff as long as it works.
Your call on the vid card, I'd go the 6600gt for sm3.0 but really its a flip of a coin between the two. Have a look at the 6800gs and see if you can strech your budget.

Oh just for the record. The link to the ram does not work correctly. Also try www.umart.net for NSW rather than umart.com.au

yea i'm with dezza on the ram, get a 2x512mb kit at least, haveing 512mb of good ram isn't as good as haveing 1gb of generic ram, you'll notice it if you only get 512,

and with the vid cards, if you're not getting one right away, i'd wait before makeing a decision because they'll probably come down soon enough, and you may be able to get a 6800gt

I already have a 512 Stick of the same RAM, so i'll have 1GB of RAM...

[EDIT] Ok the RAM link is weird it takes you to the main page...Sorry :/

Fair enough, and with any luck it'll even run dual channel. (doubtful, but you can always hope)
