I had a sheetload of trouble getting my internal to work with Redhat, and Mandrake, in the end I chucked it and got an external one.
The Chips on the Internal ones are commonly referred too as WinModems. Therefore, only support by windows.
There are a few drivers floating around that may work, if you check out www.linmodems.com not sure if they have the netcomm ones or not, worth a look tho ;)
cheers, i might get an external it looks a lot easier, i got one down stairs anyway.

No Probs.
Even with an external, it may say that it detected no modem, I find if you just point it to the correct serial port it will work anyway, or set it to the default (/dev/modem)
If you get stuck, let us know.
