just watched a nickelback music vid with footage from FF 8,9,10, and realised that as a gamer, i really should have at least tried one of the FF games... so basicly i'm asking, where do i need to start? keep in mind i dont know the storyline at all, and have never played any of these games.

i haven't played them all but the ones i have played have had completly diferent storylines and different characters, it dosen't matter where you start

Start with 7...then go on, the others are hard to find or on different consoles that require emulators or the actual console...

If you want an easy (to get) and fun FF game, try FF-X (ten) Its on PS2 and I belive its platinum (has been for a while) So its reasonably cheap and you may even be able to pick up an ex-rental/2nd hander.

Find a copy of 7 then, it was on pc and was probably the best of the series to start. After that, 10, 8 and don't worry about 9 it was ... meh.

speaking of which... Anyone got it and going to teh next lan? I -thought- dad burnt the ISO's to a working cd so I could use as a backup but turns out it didn't work. Been wanting to play it again for AGES but havn't seen anyone with it at prev lans.

7 is without doubt the best. The cyberpunk is far cooler than any of the fantasy themes (Although very debatable) After that FF8, which IS also available on PC albeit hard to find.

Only problem is, when trying to play through them again the graphics often got to me....id love a remake more than anything.

But then if you manage to pump through the first 4 hours of VII it is the greatest RPG story experience you can ever play.

you have a pre-ordered 360? you know the price of em will drop heaps over the first few months after release right?, you'd have to be insane to get it straight away.

pre ordered = one reserved for me, not at the RRP ;)
