hey guys, i'm finally getting around to upgrading my personal phone, current one is a very old motorola that i hate, so i'm looking at whats good these days.

dont want a plan, want to buy a phone outright and go into a $50 prepaid gives u $250 worth of credit thing.

currently looking at a Nokia N90, but any opinions or advice would be apreciated!

I had a play with a N90 the other day and i have to say i was not to impressed by it at all, it just felt like another POS from nokia like the 6111 was.

I currently have a sony eric w810i and i am more than happy with this phone it has a mem card upgradable to 2 gig mp3 player 2 mega pixel camera real tones. I would check it out man for like $700~ its a good buy

i pass on all the nokia N series.. they are good on paper.. but seriously.. they are all bricks..

i dont want a simple phone thats the same size as they were 10 years ago.
nokia 6230.. 3g phone.. 3g isnt werth it in australia yet. quality is still shocking and pretty pricy to say the least.

i have a w810i .. one of the first to get in aus maybe.. got it only a few days after it was released here.. awesome phone.. best i have ever owned.. does everything.. memory expandable (you can get 2gb cards off ebay for 80$)

only downside is that the phone only holds a few hundred sms's before you have to start deleting them and clearing stuff out.
i'm used to my old nokia where i could set to save my sms to the memory card and arrange them in folders.. i had over 3k sms's on that thing :)
but appart from that.. its flawless.

appart from that.. maybe a samsung d500/d600.. maybe a motorola V3i.. the nokia N93 might be good when it comes out.. but not out yet.

I have a nokia 6230. Mine is not 3G. Im on a standard plan with AAPT.

Damn good phone.

Battery life is great, recharge once a week. MP3 player, camera, video etc etc etc.

Increase memory size with a SD memory card.

Picked mine up second hand for $200 on ebay.

Yeah those 2 gig cards.... They all fail within about 6 months, we get a .load of people who have faults with them

Nokia 6280 is a nice phone- Good features (excluding 3G)
The new N series may be worth a look as the first N series was first gen.

SE W810i seems to be a good pic.

For the moment to be honast look for features that match what you want and something with a good battery life.

but stay away from the V3..... its a pos

I have 6230i, best phone since my 6310i i think it was, it was like 6210 ones but with gold on the front. Great phone, mine cost me nothing, just had to get rid of all the optus stuff off it.
