AMD Socket A Athlon XP CPU preferably 2800+ or higher
wanted because im sick of my sempron and its cache hindering the performance of my pc. i know its outdated bu cnt be bothered buyin a new one.

so if anyone knows where i can get socket A CPUs for cheap can you please inform me or if someone can offer me, i will be happy to negotiate reasonable offers

barton cores exist up to 3200+

socket a does go up to a 3200+ barton.... goodluck finding one... its probably cheaper to get a cheap 939 board and cpu, faster too

i know its not good but i got a athlon XP 2000+ for $15 here (still on old mobo AOpen AK77-8XN, which is quite old itself)

nah, no use sorry, right now i have a sempron 2400+ (1.6) OCd to 2800+ (2.0). its the cache though that is creating the biggest bottleneck on my system. getting an athlon xp 2000+ will only still give me 256k L2 and will therefore leave me in a worse off position.

i was actually looking for something along the lines of barton core from 2500+ and up as they have 512k L2 instead.

To my fellow CCGL forum friends,

I, illuzionx, am wanting to purchase a cheap CPU. The CPU that i am wanting to purchase is of the athlon XP range with power ratings of 2500+ or over. The reason of purchase is that i am in fact very much disliking my sempron which is a 2400+ overclocked to a theoretical 2800+. I am needing the extra cache of the athlon XP's as i am not willing to buy a new system until the end of this year due to commitments to school.

If you are able to help, please reply ASAP or send me a PM.

well guess what illusionx? i just happen to have an Athlon XP 2600+ as well as a 3200+ barton (hardly been used, but overclocks very well even on stock cooling)

however, i have this little rule against selling stuff to dickheads, so i'm actually going to go out to my garage tonight when i get home from work, write the date and illusionx on a piece of paper (so u know it's from me), take both the CPU's, and smash them. i'll record this and post it on these forums


next time, try to not be such a dickhead

I've got a 3200+ socket A here. It was a pretty great overclocker, (for the 3200's anyway) in my olf dfi nforce2 motherboard. I think I will sell them to Alcatrazz, as he will need another cpu soon.
