Hi guys, yeah, another post from me...

Well, i'm asking now, about a fan on my mobo, i have a MSI K8N Neo4...The Nforce4 Ultra/standard (in the manual) fan is making a strange sound, as if the fan is loose and the motor can't grip the actual fan itself. The fan will spin for a while, then make the sound (struggling sound) and the fan will slow down...If i tap the fan (i know i shouldn't) it stops for a bit then starts again, but if i get it right, it won't do it at all and all will be fine...But it shouldn't do it in the first place...

Any ideas on what may be causing it and maybe a solution?

sounds like a dead fan, try taking the fan out and making sure it's not just a buildup of dust or somthing, but if the fans dead, u dont wanna leave it in your system mainly because your system will still be pumping the same ammount of volts into it, and that power has to go somwhere and if the fan isn't spinning it's most likely just going to heat up the fan and overheat your system.

replacement mobo fans shouldn't be hard to come by, try PCCaseGear.com.au or even get a passive heatsink for it

Small fans have a really short lifespan, the bearing are gone is the short answer.

Try buying something fanless from zlaman to replace it, then never worry about it again, since postage costs to ram the board and the annoyance of being without it, probably arnt worth it.

I've looked there, in the fans and accessories section, and i couldn't find any 30mm fans...Only 80 and 120mm fans. Also tried the Accessories, Hardware, fan controllers, etc, looking for a 30mm mobo fan (with the right clips) and couldn't find any...

You don't replace the fan, you replace the whole cooler. Replace it with something fanless so it doesnt give you any trouble again :)
