Was just thinking that the amount of time you would spend using them you would go for the best... but I have used the 555's... im a fan until i put my 590's on...

Hope they work out for you... :D

The 590's were in a league of their own, nothing else I'd used even came close

how much did the 555's end up costing you?

the guy that is the repair distributer at chatswood will "repair" you a set, basically he builds them out of new parts that they use to repair headsets and sells you it at the cost of the parts...last check was around $300 for HD590's

interesting stuff huh.

imho, your not valuing anything over anything, your just impatient :D

PHOENIX_12

$195 which is pretty good they had em on sale and i told em i'd buy em for $195 he sold em ^_^

and yes I'm impatient have you ever tried gaming or listening to music without speakers or headset?

besides as appealing as 590's look I'm not into paying $500 for a headset and i don't trust a rebuilt one for 200 cheaper than rrp :s

so your enjoying the new set? no niggles? I'm curious as to others experiances

PHOENIX_12

not realy, i have a friend with a $1000 7.1 surround sound system and we were comparing, he got bigger bass hits but we both thought the overall quality and sound positioning of the HD555's was better, all i need is a good sound card like the creative X-Fi and they'd be great

as far as comfort is, it's easy to forget you're wearing them, sometimes your ear rubbs in against the inside but it's not too much and since they don't normaly even touch your ear you don't even notice it unless you're thinking about it

only complaints is the bass could be better in some games but that's due to the quality of the sound card i think, and the headset touching you're ear everynow and then but it's not noticable and certainly nothing to complain about, all in all an exceptional buy, from what i've heard the 590's are better but i'm not sure how that can be that much better to be worth the extra $250, then again i didn't think these would be worth it untill i demo'd them in store, i'd say well worth it if you sit infront of you're computer most of the day like i do :D

MR2

Good to hear there going well, your free to demo my phones if yah want at CCGL, definitly not worth the extra 250 though unless you spend atleast 3+ hours a day in them at that point that little bit of extra comfort goes, you strapped a microphone to yah headset yet :D?

PHOENIX_12
07-11-2006, 06:55 AM
haha well i spend the 3+hrs a day in them so perhaps it may be worth it, and yes i have considered it but i don't have one i can strap on
