Also to the new guys, just letting you know that the CCGL CoD 2 Comp has been ran with TDM, SD and HQ maps... We find that the most fun had by all during the comp was during a TDM battle... I understand that all the online comps are ran with SD as they obviously need to have a certain level of structure to the ladder and game play...

When you have a room full of 25 guys battling it out face to face and you can hear everyone screaming, TDM seems to be alot plainer, clearer and straight to the point... Of course SD has a team based aspect and me of all people respect that... And being the admin for CoD 2 I will definately like to see some SD in there, but when it comes to the sheer energy created by TDM at a CCGL LAN, you guys may be pleasantly surprised...

ok sd theres less action u die ur out....with flukey kills and u have no time to warm up ur skills
whereas tdm its all action skill caus the fluke shots die and generally its a lot more fun
and yes ive been to ccgl for all those comps....most hated honestly was headquaters then sd whereas tdm was awesome...generally much more action...more kills....more honour!!

Trust me when i say this, SD is the best way to play COD2 or any game, it's the perfect game type for FPS'

i agree with the ppl who have been at ccgl longer :P, like ive played a bit of cod2 at the lans and ive played sd and tdm and in my opinion tdm is the better playing format because as stated before no fluke kills etc and if i wanted to play a game that was similar to cs id much rather play cs.
im a cod2 noobie seeing as ive only played it like at one lan, gotta thank dezza for that one.

You'll find that the CCGL guys had a GREAT time in the last few lans playing CoD2 and most of it was TDM..
Its probably the most pubbed game @ ccgl.. :)

tdm is; grab a spam weapon, press forward and hold left mouse button. (oh! and throw a few nades in some random direction before you press forward)

sd = teamwork skills and brains. its has an objection. and do you think cs was the first game to have an objective based game? and why do u think cs is so popular?

SD attracts a much better class of competition, if you provide a GOOD COD2 SD comp, people will come from far and wide, i've got people from newcastle and sydney interested in coming, i understand you might enjoy TDM, i'm not saying we don't play TDM, but i'm saying as far as COMPETITION goes, COD2 SD is the best, CS is shit and should die.

who knows, we might be, i mean, i happily play DM as a break from SD, but i really like the competition and the strategy behind SD games, TDM just feels like a roll of the dice every time to me...and it doesn't offer the same Team play or the chance to stand up and take out an entire team on your own, it feels more like open warfare as opposed to a stealth mission, balance needs to be found i think........but the majority should be SD, i don't know if you guys have ever played a proper GA war on a ladder comp, with shoutcast commentary and all, but it's a good feeling, and when you feel yourself improving, and staying alive longer, and helping your team out, and using different strategies, moving as a liquid group, knowing exactly what the other players are doing, strategising properly....it's a good feeling.

I love TDM... I love SD, but from the above statement, this is the problem we have at CCGL... I would love to organise a competition that comprises both SD and TDM rounds... or even SD with a TDM and SD final battle... but we don't have the numbers...

yeah well dare ya to play cs and id whoop ur ass in that, and wats that oh thats right its SD so i know the whole team work thing but u can also do that in TDM.
i like TDM because i can get ppl back after ive been killed. plus seeing as u play SD you would know that spamming doesnt always get u a kill so why do u think i would spam it up when ive played counterstrike for so long, id only spam a max of 3 times per map due to overwhelming enemies and the weapons inability to be accurate when spamming.

so before u open ur mouth just keep it shut.

Logik you are really starting to show some brains... and I mean that honestly...

It ain't hard building a server then setting cfg's for both TDM and SD, which is what we will be doing...

You all simply need to realise that SD is a tournament based gameplay and said before, is the perfect team based gameplay for CoD2. Last time I checked tournaments were all about team play. If we were going to have a FFA, we would play it as a single player comp... which would be stupid...

TDM is fun but not team based... but like Logik has forwarded, we are prepared for both types and if we get the numbers we will be running SD with an SD/TDM final series

i cant remember spamming lol...can u spam with the kar? yea ne way the last SD comp we had we lost to mash by like 2 points or sumthin we won the first by 2 and u won the second by 3...as i recall

No but in all seriousness cod2 should be played in a search and destroy format. As this adds a more competitive side to the game were teamwork and communications are the key factors.
Were as TDM is all about spamming guns, camping corners, which you may infact enjoy.
Maybe a SD comp and also a TDM comp also DM were it is every man for himself is a great idea.

Atm all I hear is two sides bitching and moaning about what you want, howver you dont speak for the greater community that is there on the day. Since it has been some time since last lan there isnt really any system in place.
