Home Wireless DSL access

getting DSL soon..
gunna grab a router with wireless AP..
probly a D-link DSL604+

it will be setup in my flat/cabin/garage/room/whatever..
which is in the back yard..

i dont know the actual distance.. but it cant be more then 10m..
would it have the range so laptops in the main house to have access??

or will i have to look for an alternate solution.

i don't know what "home wireless kits" you're talking about.
This is wireless as in wireless networking, not infra-red or bluetooth :P

wireless ap's standard at around 65 - 85mw with my internal wireless on laptop will go at 11mbit atleast 40mtrs in a circle.... brickwalls, insulation, clay, water, steel.... are bad fir wireless..... basically if its solid ur gona loose alot of signal..... the at in my rackcase in my room gets to me 15 mtrs away easy through metal and a wall or 2....


your higer power AP's will go a greater distance.
100 - 200mw........ also you can add an aditional antenna,,,, ans omni say 8db..... we use these all the time and they cover a great distance for their size..
