Dippa's AusES 1.6 Spring Comp Write-Up
Firstly I'd like to thank AusES for running the competition, it was great fun. I'd also like to thank all the people for such a great turnout, especially the teams that noone has seen before this comp - it's great that Sydney is still getting players new to the LAN scene! Without further ado, let's begin with the team that won the competiton - eMazing Gaming.
eMg's path to victory
eMg.au > gpxpriv 16-7 de_inferno
eMg starting as T found themselves having to put in a slight amount of effort as gpxpriv took the first four rounds on inferno. That was all eMg exerted throughout the match however, as they hit cruise control in about the 10th round as gpxpriv became the first speedbump for eMg's victory.
eMg.au > Muha 16-8 de_inferno
Muha put up a strong effort to get 7 rounds as CT against eMg. They looked like continuing on their run by taking the T pistol, but all momentum was lost when eMg took the following eco. Muha were unable to get a round afterwards and they became roadkill for eMg's stronger CT half.
eMg.au > zehN 16-6 de_train
After a long wait thanks to the loser bracket, both teams sat down to resume counter-striking. zehN forced eMg to pay attention to the match by taking the pistol and the following ecos and eMg responded by going on a spree after the first gun round. zehN were able to pull the match back somewhat, taking 6 rounds as Terrorists. Any hopes that zehN would be able to get a spree of rounds on the easier CT side were dashed quickly though, as eMg went 7-0 in the second half to close up the game.
eMg.au > sublime.v9 16-14 de_dust2
Big comebacks the theme of the day in a match that was very reminiscent of the WCG.au finals. After a big 11-4 first half, sublime's momentum was reduced to rubble when nR took 10 rounds in the second half. Sublime strung together a couple of rounds but finally succumb to pressure by dropping the last round to nR.
eMg.au > zehN 16-4 de_train
zehN's upset of sublime gave eMg a bit of an easier final than first thought with eMg storming home on the back of a 13-2 first half. zehN managed to take the CT pistol but fell apart on the first gun round to give the $2000 first prize over to eMg.
zehN's road to the runner's up
zehN > Hyper 16-10 de_inferno
A match on cruise control thanks to poor play and early PC issues, Hyper lost early momentum thanks to errors with sound cards and they never really got into the first half, losing it 10-5. A bit of mucking around but strong holding towards the end saw the second half close 6-5 to zehN.
zehN > Next in Line 16-13 de_nuke
In a game that resembled an in-house pug for about 8 people playing, this match went down to the wire. Both teams had stronger CT sides and both teams took their CT pistols. zehN managed to scrape together 5 rounds in the first half against some good ramps holding but they never really got their attacks going. When the halves changed, it was more or less the same situation but for niL. niL were a bit better at flashing properly (as opposed to zehN's inability to open the squeaky door properly) and they pulled the 2nd half back to 3-3 to leave the score at 13-8. niL never picked up another round, despite having some good situations which zehN managed to clutch. zehN steamrolled the rest of the half taking 8 straight rounds in an entertaining match for everyone involved.
zehN < eMg.au 16-6 de_train
While putting together a decent amount of T rounds for a mix team, zehN needed to take the CT pistol to make a mark in this match. They didn't, and eMg rolled over them without trouble.
zehN > Apple 16-14 de_inferno
Apple having come off an OT win, which was already a massive game thanks to their comeback from being 13-2 down, was going to prove a problem. Strong play from lucify gathered some early gun rounds for Apple while good holding at B picked up rounds for zehN. After finishing the first half 8-7 (to zehN), Apple went on a rampage, locking down B and shutting mid out entirely. With the score at 14-11, zehN regrouped and began taking things more slowly. Apple's defence failed to hold and zehN scraped through a very close match to face Muha in the next round.
zehN > Muha 16-9 de_nuke
What looked to be a promising affair with the premise of Muha being able to take revenge on some of the reguLaters lineup quickly fell apart with Muha being unable to put together a string of rounds in any situation. Muha's money situation was damaged quite badly and zehN obliged by locking down the bombsites, taking the first half 12-3. Muha dominated zehN on the 2nd half pistol though and shut down zehN's topsite rush easily. zehN continued rushing and they got enough kills to force Muha to retake but Muha outshot them on that as well. After Muha had taken 6 rounds, zehN put together the rest of the rounds they needed to finish up the second half 4-6 to face Sublime in the LB final.
zehN > Sublime.v9 16-13 de_train
The night had been long and the only two teams left waiting - Sublime and eMg.au - were getting a little irritable. Sublime rushed inside and got the bomb down, only to find 4 members of zehN rushing behind them. After taking the CT pistol, Sublime regrouped and eventaully picked up to a 6-3 lead. zehN pulled out a couple of AWPs and their defence improved to even the score. In the end Sublime and zehN split the final rounds with zehN taking the one round lead.
Sublime started off as CT even better, and they took a comfortable 4-0 lead. zehN threw out the quick rushes and started working slowly, finally getting on the scoreboard. They then ran into a surprise eco and were able to recover a bit of money. Sublime retrived a round quickly but zehN's slow attacks kept getting the entry kills. After 4 rounds, zehN traded rounds with Sublime and were forced to half buy. The half buy paid off with dippa clutching a 1v2 by killing the bomb defuser, recovering zehN's money situation and forcing Sublime onto the eco. With the score at 6-6 and Sublime's money shot to pieces, zehN went back to rushing inside. Without the guns to hold Sublime's defence crumbled, and zehN walked away with the 16-13 victory.
zehN < eMg.au 16-4 de_train
After finishing as T's on train, zehN backed up again to play the same side on the same map. It never looked good from the start, and when the bomb carrier got nailed by itself outside it all went downhill. In an exhibition of target practice, eMg nailed the first half 13-2. zehN managed to take the CT pistol to regain a bit of credibility but without anyone with the skill of Rumil Talarom they quickly crumbled once the guns came out. Nevertheless, they walked away with $750 for their efforts.
Sublime's trip to the podium
Sublime.v9 > Glamorous 16-4 de_inferno
A quick and uneventful match, Glamorous were rather uninspiring and they failed to trouble Sublime in the slightest as Sublime rolled over them to the second round.
Sublime.v9 > Ass Kickers 16-11 de_nuke
Sublime took this match, not particularly strongly according to one member of aK although they did have a reasonable lead. Nevertheless they progressed without too much trouble.
Sublime.v9 > Volatile 16-8 de_train
Volatile started strongly, splitting well and taking the bombsites smoothly. After taking the first 7 rounds however, Volatile hit a wall and they never recovered. Sublime took the remainder of the rounds as CT and they dropped only one in the second half with good teamwork and strategy, leaving Volatile bewildered as to what happened with their 7-0 lead.
Sublime.v9 < eMg.au 16-14 de_dust2
Sublime continued their solid form against Volatile by dominating the Terrorist half 11-4 against eMg's more favoured CT side. However, they fell victim to the poor money situation having lost a string of rounds immediately after and eMg were able to regain the advantage. Sublime took two of the last three rounds as CT to recover a bit of money but they were unable to bring the match back into overtime, but still confident of being able to beat them in their next meeting.
Sublime.v9 < zehN 16-13 de_train
Sublime, while not appearing to play particularly badly individually, were possibly not playing well as a team. zehN were able to get a lot of single picks in open-area battles. Apoc put up a strong individual performance along with busta, but their efforts were irrelevant as the team simply ran out of money towards the end of the match.

no i don't mean double posting on different forums ... the content of your post looks like it has doubled, like you've copy and pasted it twice.
as for posting on other forums, i'd say do it to every forum you can :D we love the support of people posting about us on other gaming forums.
