We have given Mr Hatter permission to come to CCGL and make a documentary called "Life Online" for their Uni.
Basically "trying to find more about another social outlet in society, the internet/games"
Anyone can participate in this - if you dont then thats ok too.
They will be interviewing willing lanners and taking some footage.
Overview Below
"Story Concept
The online world of gaming, shopping, and communication is a major influence in peoples lives today. ‘Game Time’ focuses on the influence of this realm on individuals lives by looking at an online gamer. Gamers are heavily involved in a variety of online activities and will give the best idea of how integrated in real life the virtual world can become. Looking at this group of people also provides access to a variety of age groups and social status as it is not only teens and older youth taking part in these activities. Through interviews statistical information and other resources the documentary will be able to look into this current issue. A few selected individuals will be chosen to interview and discuss their gaming habits, how it affects everyday life and their views on living their life virtually and using other online services.
Notes on style
The Documentary will be done in a very one on one style. Interviews will take place in more personal locations (computer/office room). The interviewer will also conduct themselves informally in their questions and generate a relaxed feel. The aim of the documentary will be to get more personal first hand views of the gaming and online scene through these approaches.
Majority of camera angles will be mid to close up shots in an office or quiet room setting. Subjects will be well lit so as to focus on the person rather than surroundings. A clean studio look would be ideal but will depend on location. Other accompanying shots involved in the montages and quick clips during the interviews will be a variety of more interesting angles such as over the shoulder, close-ups on screens and panning shots."
